Our Mission

Our Mission & Core Objectives – How We Support Athletes

At Fundacja Ippon Polska, our mission is clear and unwavering: to provide comprehensive organizational and financial support to competitors in judo and other combat sports, empowering them to achieve their full athletic potential. We believe that every dedicated athlete deserves the chance to compete, to learn, and to excel, regardless of their financial circumstances. Our work is structured around four fundamental pillars of support, each designed to address a critical need in an athlete's journey. This holistic approach ensures that we are not just solving one problem, but are building a sustainable foundation for long-term success and well-being.

1. Enabling Participation: Access to Competitions and Training Camps
The path to greatness is paved with experience. National and international competitions are not just about winning medals; they are essential learning environments where athletes test their skills, learn from defeat, and gain the exposure needed to progress. Similarly, specialized training camps offer concentrated periods of development, access to world-class coaches, and the opportunity to train with diverse partners. We understand that the costs associated with travel, accommodation, entry fees, and coaching can be prohibitive. Our mission is to remove this barrier. We provide direct financial grants to athletes and clubs, enabling them to participate in these crucial events. By funding these opportunities, we ensure that our athletes can gain the experience necessary to compete at the highest levels, bringing back knowledge and techniques that elevate the entire Polish combat sports community.

2. The Will to Win, The Support to Recover: Treatment and Rehabilitation
The reality of combat sports is that they are physically demanding, and with dedication comes the risk of injury. A serious injury can be a devastating blow, not only physically but also financially. The cost of specialized treatment, surgery, or long-term rehabilitation can quickly overwhelm an athlete and their family, potentially ending a promising career prematurely. At Fundacja Ippon Polska, we are committed to ensuring that injuries do not mean the end of the road. A core part of our mission is to provide financial aid for medical treatment and rehabilitation. We step in to help cover the costs of specialist consultations, physiotherapy, and necessary medical procedures. Our goal is to support athletes through their most challenging times, providing them with the resources they need to heal, recover, and return to the sport they love stronger and more resilient than before. We believe that supporting an athlete through injury is just as important as supporting them in victory.

3. Investing in the Future: Sports Scholarships for Talented Athletes
Talent alone is not enough to reach the top. It requires years of relentless training, sacrifice, and unwavering focus. Many of Poland's most promising judokas and combat sports athletes face a difficult choice: pursue their sporting dreams or focus on their education and career to secure a financial future. We believe they should not have to choose. Our sports scholarship program is designed to alleviate this burden. We identify and support exceptionally talented individuals, providing them with financial stability so they can dedicate themselves fully to their training. These scholarships are an investment in the future of Polish sport. They allow athletes to focus on technique, conditioning, and competition without the distraction of financial worry. By funding these scholarships, we are nurturing the champions of tomorrow and demonstrating a tangible commitment to athletic excellence.

4. Growing the Game: Promotion and Popularization of Combat Sports
Our mission extends beyond supporting elite athletes; it is also deeply rooted in the growth and development of judo and combat sports at the grassroots level in Poland. We are passionate about introducing these disciplines to a wider audience, particularly young people. The values inherent in judo—respect, discipline, self-control, and perseverance—are invaluable life lessons that benefit individuals both on and off the mat. We actively work to promote these sports through organizing and supporting local camps, training sessions, and demonstration events. We collaborate with clubs and schools to make combat sports more accessible, breaking down stereotypes and showcasing them as tools for physical fitness, character development, and personal growth. Our aim is to build a vibrant and sustainable ecosystem for combat sports in Poland, from the first-time participant to the Olympic hopeful. We believe that by promoting participation at all levels, we are not only enriching individual lives but also ensuring a strong and talented future for our national teams.
